Announcing Cherry’s New Gaming Keyboard – MX Board 6.0

Cherry is a German company that is highly known and respected for producing computer peripheral devices. They are also known for manufacturing a wide variety of sensors and automotive modules. A few years back, they were bought by ZF Friedrichshafen and changed their name to ZF Electronics GmbH. However, they still produce under their Cherry brand. They have production facilities in Europe, Asia and America, but all of their product are developed and designed in Europe.

Nowadays their products are used in four large market divisions, and they are as follows: switches, sensors, keyboard, mice, and contract electronic manufacturing.

For a long time, Cheery have been the main manufacturer of mechanical keyboards with outstanding quality. Today we are going to talk about their brand new keyboard that is specially designed for gamers, and it highlights two biggest concerns when it comes to mechanical keyboards and they are N-key rollover and latency.

When talking about the N-key rollover, we must emphasize that it is a bit difficult to test it, but it is still somewhat harmful to gamers. The rollover feature means that a computer keyboard can handle a few simultaneous keystrokes. Gamers are those who need this feature the most, as they play games that demand that kind of keystrokes.

On the other hand, Cherry claims they solved the problem in their MX Board 6.0. The company replaced the digital controller with a new analogue link to every single key switch. This new feature will unlock the rollover feature in full and reduce latency.

The new keyboard is equipped with MX cross point key-switch. In addition to all this, the keyboard includes backlighting. We associate the backlighting feature mostly to limited third-party designs. The keyboard has some other astonishing features such as Win-Key deactivation, four additional multimedia keys that can be programmable, 12 keys with double functions, aluminum chassis, braided USB cable, and detachable magnetic wrist-rest.

Therefore, this new keyboard can read all inputted keys at any time, and there is no five key limit. The speed by which the keyboard reads the inputs is not limited; in fact, the only limitation is the speed of USB. Cherry MX Board features red LEDs that users can dim, in order to get the best key illumination. The keyboard also features a rubber palm rest, which by now has become a standard.

The company takes great pride in producing this great piece of equipment, which is to expect. The keyboard will probably be sold at a price of $220. Customers may expect a great product that is built last a long time.

Those who have chosen the MX 3.0 as their companion keyboard might have questions regarding the new MX switches. They might wonder when the company will produce the MX 3.1 with those switches. Well, as it happens that could happen very soon (within a year or two).

Hardware

The new keyboard feels like highly engineered. It feels like piano keys under your fingertips. The design is thoughtful and aimed towards programmers and perhaps not so much towards the everyday gamer. Even though, gamers will have a lot to say on this particular subject, in a positive manner of course.

Many manufacturers claim to have solved the problem with N-key rollover, but Cherry still manages to be on top. Gamers and programmers are always looking and demanding something new, something that will make their game even better and take it to the next level. Cherry’s new keyboard should do the trick and enhance the experience of playing games and making a few simultaneous keystrokes without any glitches or problems what so ever.

Gaming world in the last few years went through many changes towards the better, and Cherry contributed a lot. The real key technology mainly relies on USB, as there are no key limitations. The USB will reduce latency that again helps with the quicker registration of key presses. Not only programmers and gamers will be amazed by this piece of technology, but professional typists and software developers will appreciate it as well.

With all its features, this keyboard will probably wipe away its competition. You will be able to purchase it this spring for approximately $220. The money you spend will be from what we can tell at this point, money well spent.
