Samsung and Sharp Making 12.9-inch display for Apple iPad Pro

Japan-based company Sharp is a multinational corporation which manufacturers and designs electronic products. The company’s headquarter is in in Abeno-ku, Osaka, and employs around 50000 people around the globe. It was founded back in 1912 and since then it has not stopped impressing users all over the world.

The Japanese Sharp has entered the race for manufacturing display panels for the upcoming monster tablet iPad pro introduced by Apple Inc. Some fresh leaks on Friday provided more info on the matter. According to a report, Apple is narrowing its search for a new manufacturer of displays for their new tablet. Apple is focusing on Sharp and Samsung.

The new monster tablet will feature a 12.9-onch screen with resolution of 2732 x 2048 MP amounting to 264 ppi pixel density. According to a report, sharp will be responsible for supplying displays and Samsung will be used as a backup, just in case of unplanned events.

The report also says that Sharp is expected to start supplying displays by September which means that users can expect the new iPad Pro to debut in late third quarter of this year, or in the last quarter the latest.

One more thing worth of mentioning is that LG was also considered as one of the contestants in the race for supplying the displays. Unfortunately the Korea-based company did not succeed with their plans due to some yield issues that emerged.

The display panel that Sharp produces seem to meet all the high standards Apple has set. Both companies Sharp and Apple have already partnered during some past times, and the relationship will carry on in future endeavors.

The iPad Pro has been a theme of rumors for quite some time now and is expected to be released by the end of 2016 the latest. The tablet will have some interesting features such as stereo and stylus speakers.

Given the fact that Apple and Sharp share some previous work engagement, we can expect a good final product. We expect a nice, sharp videos and images generated toward people who are always on the move.

There were many rumors about the specifications and features of the new Apple iPad Pro. An earlier info said that the tablet will run on iOS 9 and OS X El Captain. That of course suggest that the device is going to be a hybrid. iOS 9 will certainly provide some great features to the device such as split screen, which will be of great use to anyone. Some other rumors also suggest that the device will feature Bluetooth stylus, A9 chipset, a larger USB Type-C port and Force Touch display.

These are just rumors, and the new iPap Pro could end up with any of these features, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Sharp is at this moment the main supplier of displays for Apple Inc. If by some chance Sharp does not make the cut, and does not fulfill its duty in supplying Apple with sufficient number of display panel, then Apple will turn to Samsung. If the demand becomes such that Sharp will not be able to produce the high number of displays, Apple will also turn to Samsung in order to give the market what it wants. More interesting information should be revealed during the company’s October launch event. So far we are aware that the new iPad Pro will have excellent speakers, but of course we’ll know more in the months ahead of us.

Both Apple and Sharp have great expectations from this new endeavor. However, the end users are those who have the last word on the matter, so to speak. One thing is for sure; Apple and Sharp have put and will keep on putting quality over quantity to give the people the best possible product they can. Apple even went to some great lengths of finding a backup company just in case if the current one will not be able to produce as much as is expected from them.

All we have to do now is wait and see how well the two companies work together and what kind of a product they will introduce us with this time.
