LG Prepares To Show The New G4 On April 28 And 29

LG is likely to show off the brand new G4 on April 28 and 29 in six cities. The company’s upcoming flagship phone will be shown in Paris, New York, Seoul, Singapore, London, and Istanbul. The information is accurate since LG has sent media invites all across the world to tech magazines and blogs. The invitation comes with a slogan: “See the great, feel the great.” It sounds pretty “great”, we hope that the smartphone will do its best in the LG hosted shows.

LG

LG is a Seoul-based Korean consumer electronics manufacturer, who has made quite a reputation during the years. The company has been on the market for a while since it was found in 1958 during the aftermath of the Korean War. The name of the company was Goldstar back then (I even had an old Goldstar TV), and then it was renamed to LG. The goal of LG was to provide home made consumer electronics to Korea. As they had reached this goal, they were ready to move on. They broke into the Asian market, then to the European and the American. That move made LG a multinational company and a worldwide known and accepted brand.

The company has been the leader in TV manufacturing along with Samsung. However, LG is making tons of other products, mostly consumer electronics, such as smartphones. With the G series, the company has made a successful break into the cell phone market and obtained a great share of it.

The LG G4 & Rumors

There are only rumors about the smartphone. However, some of them seems pretty reliable. There are only rumors, as LG hasn’t shown us its brand new cell phone yet. As we stated at the beginning of our article, we will know more info about the device later, on April 28, where LG will show us at their Seoul hosted show.

Rumors say that the LG G4’s screen will be as big as 5.6 inches. However, I don’t think that information is correct since the LG G3 (the G4’s predecessor) is 5.5 inches big. Why would the company want to change the “good old fashioned” size of the smartphone by 0.1 inch? That would be pretty funny since the development of the new display size would cost LG quite a lot of money, which they would throw in the trash just for the screen to be 0.1 inch bigger. No way.

LG G4

The rumors about the device’s size would not be true; however, there are rumors about the resolution of the smartphone, which are most possibly true. One of the leak sites state that the LG G4 will have a QHD (1440 x 2560) resolution. It may come pretty handy for the company, since there aren’t so many QHD phones on the market. However, the resolution is spreading all across the world. Does LG want to be the first in this technology? Hell yeah! They always strive to get ahead of their competitors, which they could achieve by implementing this brand new technology to their new flagship smartphone.

It is not a rumor, as it has been confirmed that LG will put a Hexa-Core A57 Cortex CPU in the G4. That’s a pretty good upgrade since the phone’s predecessor had only a Quad Core processor. However, I think, that LG could have turned more money on the project since most of the flagship smartphones that come in this year will come with an Octa Core CPU. That means two more scores comparing to the G4 so that they will be much faster than LG’s upcoming flagship phone.

The Rivals

There are four major competitors to the LG G4, the iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Sony Xperia Z4 and the HTC One M9. All listed smartphones are worthy rivals to the LG G4. LG has to prioritize getting ahead of the Android competitors (Samsung Galaxy S6, Xperia Z4, HTC One M9), instead of focusing on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. It is essential for the company since Apple is pretty hard to beat because the iPhones are far the most popular smartphones among people.

We are looking forward to the competition and, of course, to LG’s shows on April 28 and 29.
