Volkswagen & Nvidia Plans To Expand Autonomous Cars With AI Technology
Artificial intelligence or AI has become the center of many autonomous vehicle manufacturing today. However, vehicle companies are now starting to move to other areas in which the technology can be used. This is the dream and the goals of Volkswagen and Nvidia companies. They have revealed their interests in developing the technology in other areas of use and going beyond its autonomous use in vehicles through deeper learning.
Volkswagen Munich Lab
In 2014, Volkswagen set up a lab in Munich. The lab is said to be used a dedicated artificial intelligence team that is designated to develop improved usage of the technology for enterprises. Last year, the lab employed one of the world best known artificial intelligence professional and tasked him with this specific responsibility. The developments made by the lab are said to be the basis of the agreement between the two companies. It is definitely a way to provide and venture into new opportunities by using artificial intelligence in corporate work levels and for improved business functions. Volkswagen gives an example of a highly improved mobility services. It says that traffic levels could be improved to optimize movement in cities and industrial or urban areas of the country. In addition, he includes the collaboration of intelligent robots or human interfaces in the process.
Volkswagen says that artificial intelligence is its future and the future of many other industries. With the world moving towards a digitalized future, the Volkswagen group wants to have a stake in it all. By deploying their own artificially intelligent systems, they will be able to develop and improve the services to the desired levels. This is the tip of the icing and of course, increased income as a result. However, to achieve this specific objective, they require knowledge and expertise in the area. That is the main reason they have partnered with Nvidia and cooperating with it in this specific development. With such a partnership, there is a better future ahead than going it alone.
Startup Support Program
Achieving this goal also includes proper functionality of other systems too. Volkswagen being a motor vehicle manufacturing company and Nvidia has teamed up. At the moment, they are looking forward with coming up with new ways to improve and enhance their plan. As for now, they are assisting other automotive companies and business startups to venture into the manufacturing space. They are doing this by introducing a learning session mainly for machine learning. The program was started by Volkswagen with the help of its partner Nvidia after the opening of the Munich Lab. The program is designed to assist small automotive startup to learn and specialize in machine learning. The learning is expected to start with around five automotive startups. In addition, they are aiming at acquiring students for the summer camp set to start soon in another program known as the summer of code.
Self -Driving Cars
Volkswagen and Nvidia have been partners for quite a while. In fact, they have already been involved in a project of their own i.e. the development of self -driving cars. This can be said to have been the pioneer on how to use artificial intelligence in automotive. In addition, it has ensured the development of a new and better idea of going beyond that and proving artificial intelligence is useful elsewhere. The partners are set to introduce their new invention in the car industry by 2020. However, their current announcement had nothing to do with self- driving cars but with the advanced potential associated with data. Volkswagen says that they are happy that they made the contract with Nvidia to develop 12 brands of artificially intelligent automotive. However, they also know that the company also has contracts with other companies such as Qualcomm which is Volkswagen rival chip firm and other companies as well. It can be said to have contracts in companies developing smart in car devices and systems and also connected cars as well.
Well, working with Volkswagen on new ideas and entrepreneurial use of artificial intelligence in corporate business levels is just a single news entity for Nvidia. It has teamed up with other companies and is currently trending in other technologically associated news as well. In fact, an announcement saying that its technology is bound or committed to powering Autoliv and Volvo brands come 2021. In addition, it has signed another contract with Hella and ZF wutomotive suppliers. The contract is specifically in relation to the building of improved and advanced automotive platforms safety standards to go with the improved technological capabilities and systems.
It is apparent that the automotive industry is moving towards being fully digitized after full automation. With the goals and objectives explained above and all the contracts that Nvidia is seen to have signed, it is apparent that we should expect more advancements in the industry soon. Furthermore, if the improved artificial intelligence use in business is successful, I don’t see which heights we won’t be able to climb! Ensure that more news on the same subject does not pass you by.
