Sony Announced Streamable PS3 Games to the PlayStation 3

As movie streaming has become quite popular Sony has decided to implement this to the gaming industry by making the PlayStation 3 games streamable for PS3 users. Of course, the service has its costs, however, it’s a pretty good dead if you look into it closer.

If you are planning to sell your PS3 system since you changed it for a PS4 and you think you don’t really need it anymore, you are wrong, just keep it for a while. With Sony’s brand new game streaming subscription, the PlayStation Now will enable you to play with hundreds of games for the sum of 20$.

I assume you know what all-you-can play means? It’s similar to the all you can eat and the all you can watch definitions, however, it is for games. For those who completely don’t know what this means, let me explain. All you can means in business that you pay for something in the beginning, for example in a restaurant, and you can do whatever that service is offering you as much as you like, so there’s no quantity limits. However, because the company that is offering the service wants to gain huge profits and remain profitable there’s always a time frame that is given for the activity, so you can’t use the service just only for a limited time. In the example of an all you can eat restaurant, you pay, let’s say 25$ to enter the place then you will have let’s say 2-3 hours to eat and drink what you want and as much as you like. These all you can do deals could come handy for people who really like to use the limitless of the service. Unfortunately, those who don’t really want to use or can’t use (or abuse) the limits of the service that has been offered, it is not worth for them. It is only for the group that I have been talking earlier.

Getting back to the streaming service of the PS3, let’s say this service was a quite great idea from Sony. What’s not great about the subscription that it is only available for the PlayStation 3 systems? Why is this a problem, you would ask. Obviously, the PlayStation 3 is a pretty old platform that has been succeeded by the PS4, which a better, faster and newer system for customers to play on. Why isn’t the company offering this service to the PS4 too? I don’t really know the answer for this question, I mean the exact answer. I have an idea though why Sony is planning to launch this service only on the PS3. Since the PlayStation 4 has launched about one and half year ago, Sony fans and end-users of the company’s products have started to change their gaming systems to the PS4 from the PS3. However, there has been quite a lot of PlayStation 3 users remaining. The company has to care about them too and do service for them to encourage them to stay with the company and not change them to Sony’s biggest competitor, Microsoft. Sony’s biggest fear is that the end users who were always loyal will go and buy one of Microsoft’s gaming systems, maybe the Xbox 360 or the newer Xbox One.

Everything can happen on the market and psychology counts a lot there. It is pretty hard to analyze every end user who is purchasing products from the market, however, the companies can examine the majority of them. In the consumer’s society, the end users are the most predictable ones. They can be controlled as a mass by the big companies. Let’s not talk about controlling the people but analyzing them. There are tons of big companies who are providing details and analytic details to other companies about the people’s opinion and predictions what will be their reaction if a company does something specific. There are even departments in the bigger companies, so there’s no need to hire a third party firm to do the job instead of them. They can do it themselves.

I think Sony’s analytic department has examined what end users would do if they just stop caring about the PS3, that’s why they made PlayStation Now PS3 exclusive.
