Microsoft Has Updated the Favorite Game of Most Windows Users

What was the game that you have always played when no “normal” PC games were installed on your computer? Of course, it was Solitaire, everyone’s favorite card game on Windows. In this article we will discuss the topic of video games, we will introduce you to the world around Microsoft and, of course, to the new version of Solitaire.

Video Games

If we check what part of the tech has developed the most, maybe I would say that video games are the winners in this category. Just remember the pixelated games that were released to the Commodore 64. Most of the people couldn’t even afford a normal monitor that time, so they were using an infra green or infrared one to play their games. It seems quite old school, isn’t it? Let’s just see what we have now.

Video games nowadays are pretty cool, I must say. First of all, let’s just see what tech is there for personal computers. There are video cards that are using 4 and 6 gigabytes of video memory in themselves, which are on the GDDR5 technology. Just remember, back in the days a graphics card with 256 Mb memory in it was the best. CPUs have developed quite a lot over the years too. The central processing unit manufacturers have been investing in brand new technologies to make their products even faster for both gaming, personal and company benefits. They have developed multi-core technologies that enables operating systems to use multiple cores of the CPU, so the processor of the computer can work even faster. In the last 4 years, Intel has developed an even more advanced technology. This tech is the one called hyper-threading technology. It’s a quite difficult topic to detail, so I will try to explain you the basics of it. The CPUs have threads built in along with the cores. The threads have the same task as the cores and they work as the cores. The more threads a CPU has, the faster it is. This technology is pretty cost-efficient too, since building new cores in a central processing unit is quite expensive, however, putting more threads in it is not. So remember, when buying a CPU you have to firstly see how many threads are in it along with the cores.

Video Games

Most of the video games are quite beautiful nowadays. They are well-designed, atmospheric with gorgeous-looking visuals. It is pretty hard to make an AAA game with a low budget, or with a five member team. However, the indie game culture has influenced the developers nowadays. Especially with the CryEngine being free, they only require royalty to be paid to the company from the sales that have been generated by the game that has been designed with the engine. Crytek has made a pretty good deal with this software since the competitor of the company is the one who produces Unreal Engine. Unreal Engine is not free, however, they have less royalty than the CryEngine. So developers with a low budget will most probably choose CryEngine and those with higher will use Unreal.

Microsoft

Microsoft has been trying to change the way the company is working nowadays. In the last 10 years, the company hasn’t really produced software that was not buggy or that hasn’t had any problems. The worst was in this that they haven’t released any patches for them. Just let’s check Windows Vista, Microsoft’s biggest fail. They haven’t tried to fix it, they just released Windows 7 as a standalone version OS, which could have been the proper patch to Vista. They are trying to make more quality products so they can improve customer satisfaction and trust in order to generate higher income.

Solitaire and Its Updates

Microsoft has completely revamped most Windows users’ favorite game, Solitaire in Windows 10. The game still looks great, even better on the new OS. However, this update has been necessary since Solitaire was last updated when the Windows XP was released, and that was a pretty long time ago. Microsoft, such as Apple, is trying to make improvements and implement new inventions on their products in order to compete with their competition.
