Will Google Succeed in Making Android Wearables Compatible with iOS?

Google is one of the largest companies in North America. They specialize in Internet-related services that include cloud computing, online advertising technologies, software, and search. The company was founded back in 1998, and its mission is to organize the world’s information and to make that information more useful and reachable to users. Probably, there is not a person in this world who has not heard about Google at some point. The company takes pride in the progress they achieved during the years and a day does not go by without reaching its users and making the best out of the relationship. In 2013, Google was listed as the most visited website in the world. The company also owns the popular Blogger and YouTube.

They offer many different services such as the Google Mail, Google Translator, Google Wallet, Google Shopping Express and many others. The company is also well respected when it comes to treating their employees and is a good place to be.

Today we are going to talk about this company’s mission to make Android Wear software that is going to power wearable devices such as smart watches and will work with iPhone made by Apple.

Google is getting ready to add support for iOS software produced by Apple, plus they are also getting ready to add support to Wi-Fi (this is referred to the next generation of Android wear). All this is set for the next few months and could expand the company’s user base because it would allow people who own iPhones to work with Android operating system such as Android smart watches and other wearables. The upcoming changes could lead to some major changes on the market which would provide Google plenty of new users and much greater profits.

Companies like Motorola and Sony already have smart watches that are based on Android wearable technology. The company is close to being finished with all the technical details, and if they achieve their goal, it could mean that all the Android smartwatches will enter in competition with the Apple Watch. That is very good news, as we all know how important competition is.

Currently, Android wearables are working with a supporting app on the iPhone, and they support some basic functions such as notifications.

Pebble, a company that produced a smartwatch that works well with both operating systems (Android and iOS), has managed to get some good features. One of those features is music control, which works well on its intelligent watch with the iPhone. Therefore, this is not impossible.

All this leaves a few questions unanswered, but the biggest question is will Apple approve the companion app into its App Store? They just released their new Apple Watch, which is spectacular and many efforts went in its productions, plus the Apple Watch is the biggest launch in 2015. Both of the companies have a positive track record when it comes to approving the apps. Apple did not comment on this particular matter, and Google said that they did not have anything to announce just yet. We will have to wait for some further development of the situation.

What Does This All Mean To Users?

The users are those who can gain the most from all this. Wearables are becoming more and more important, and they tend to make things easier for us. Nowadays it seems like we have an app for everything, and that is fine too. Wearable technology is here to make our lives easier, and to help us in many different fields, particularly when it comes to health. If there is something to cherish than that’s our health. All the fitness gadgets with health benefits are very welcome and also very long-awaited. Let’s just recall the Apple Watch. We waited for months for its release, and now it is finally here. Its health benefits are great, and the features it possesses can make a difference towards the better. If Google succeeds in its plan, users will benefit from both of the worlds (Android and iOS). That’s what is the most important. The healthy competition brings the final user best from the both worlds.

Will this happen or not is still a mystery, but if it does not happen today, or tomorrow, time will come when this change will make its grand entrance. Perhaps even sooner than we all believe. Technology is evolving at the speed of light, and no one can stop it.
