Just check out BlackBerry, they are still making phones with “keyboard buttons” on the device. However, the newest cell phones of the company are not ordinary gadgets, but smartphones, just with buttons. BlackBerry is still making many kinds of devices. Let’s look into what they have worked on last year and early this year.
The New Phone of Blackberry
BlackBerry has been working on a smartphone that they are planning to release this year. The phone’s name is Oslo. Many people are getting pretty interested what we will say in this article, however, you should know that this device will most probably be a simplified version of last year’s BlackBerry Passport. This could be bad news for most of the people, however, for those who want to buy a phone for less it is great news. Why would it be? Just use you mind and logic. If a company releases a phone that has slightly weaker hardware parts than the other that has been released a year ago or so, what would you think would cost more? We can be 99 percent sure that the device that will be released this year, Oslo, will be the one that will cost less, since of the hardware and simplification.
Let’s see into the device’s specifications. The BlackBerry Oslo will feature a Snapdragon 800 quad-core central processing unit, 3 GB Ram, a beautifully designed 13-megapixel camera on the rear of the smartphone and a 3450 mAh battery. These specifications are pretty cool, however, last year’s Passport had better specs. If we compare these hardware specifications with any of the largest competitors on the market, we will see that BlackBerry is standing out with this heavy lineup and is going to push hard to reach the market share that the company has set as a goal for themselves to reach.
BlackBerry has been producing quite unique phones over the years. You will never find a smartphone that has the same or at least a similar design. Of course, if you are not buying a replica or something that has been copied from BlackBerry’s design. The company is using the QWERTY keyboard buttons along with a touchscreen. This could make BlackBerry a proper smartphone, however, there comes the question: why are those buttons needed? They could be really annoying and they cover tons of space that could be the screen. However, most people say that they are needed since you can write your emails and messages faster than with a virtual keyboard. They may be right, however, we don’t know that for sure.
There is a rumor about the BlackBerry Oslo. This rumor contains that this release of BlackBerry will only be available in China since it has been designed for the Chinese market. This could be the reason why the company has made a simplified version of the smartphone. On the Chinese market, there is no need for high-tech devices that cost a lot. People there like cheap gadgets and want to buy devices cheap.
